The George Washington Carver Lecture Series will be held Thurs., Oct. 24, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Tompkins Hall Ballroom on ϲͼ’s historic campus in Tuskegee, Alabama.

The event, which honors Dr. Carver’s nearly 50 years of scientific excellence in agriculture and food research at this storied institution, will showcase a range of expert lectures under the theme, “Linking George Washington Carver’s Legacy to Recent Advancements in Food Science, Nutrition and Sustainability.” The lecture and panel discussion will focus on various aspects of food in relationship to health, wellness, and quality of life and longevity.

The lecture series is organized by the university’s Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences (FNS), the Food and Nutritional Sciences Advisory Board (FNSAB), and the College of Agriculture, Environment and Nutritional Sciences (CAENS).

The George Washington Carver Lecture Series is supported by food industry and other sponsors, including the IFT Foundation, Badia Spices, Meel Corp., and Diamond Pet Food.

Registration for the event opens August 9, 2024. Early bird discounted tickets are $50 per person before Sept. 16, and a regular registration rate of $75 will apply after Sept. 16. Student tickets are free. All registrations include lunch and tour.
