Tuskegee ranks among HBCUs with high freshman return rates

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (January 6, 2015) — °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¹ÒÅÆ has again earned recognition by U.S. News & World Report. Tuskegee ranks No. 6 among historically black colleges and universities that have the highest average freshman retention rates for first-year students.

The report states that more than 70 percent of students at the schools ranked on the report returned after their first year with Tuskegee placing sixth of the 12 schools listed. Schools that were unranked by U.S. News were not considered for this report. 

In its annual listing of the nation’s colleges and universities, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êͼ¹ÒÅÆ was again placed at No. 5 out of 69 Historically Black Colleges and Universities with published rankings for 2015. In total, there were five Alabama institutions named to the list. Tuskegee was the only one ranked within the Top 20.
