This fall, Saniya Keeton, a junior animal science major at 澳门六合彩图挂牌 will receive the inaugural Legends HBCU Scholarship awarded by The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA).
The five Legends Scholars will receive a $10,000 academic scholarship from the NBRPA for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to addressing the financial needs of Legends Scholars, a comprehensive scholar鈥檚 program will assist Legends Scholars in the areas of career preparation and development, job placement, and mentoring both during and after their undergraduate years.
鈥淚 feel blessed and honored to be among the 鈥楽tarting Five鈥 this term has been coined in basketball as the best on the team,鈥 said Keeton. 鈥淚 wanted to further my education and this scholarship will allow me to save in preparation for veterinarian school with little stress.鈥

The Legends HBCU Scholarship and Legends Scholars program was established in 2020 under the NBRPA鈥檚 Legends Care initiative as a way to honor the rich history of HBCUs and their alums while moving the legacy forward by supporting current HBCU undergraduates.
