Willis-Henderson 鈥�02 returns to Tuskegee as new Veterinary Medicine hospital administrator

In June, the 澳门六合彩图挂牌 College of Veterinary Medicine welcomed Dr. Dana Willis-Henderson, a 2002 doctor of veterinary medicine alumna, as its new Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital administrator. In this role, she will manage hospital operations by integrating business principles with veterinary medical practices to ensure quality patient care while maintaining the hospital鈥檚 profitability.
Dr. Ruby L. Perry, dean of the college, said she is excited to have Willis-Henderson return home and help the college move forward.
鈥淒r. Jeannine Bellamy, who serves as director of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and Dr. Willis-Henderson will work together to make sure the teaching hospital is advancing for both our students and our clients,鈥� Perry noted. 鈥淥ur college has the demanding responsibility of adhering to the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education鈥檚 guidelines 鈥� both academically as well as fiscally 鈥� so I am looking forward to this dynamic leadership team鈥檚 results,鈥� she continued.
Prior to returning to her alma mater, Willis-Henderson served as medical director for Randall Road Animal Hospital of Crystal Lake and Huntley Animal Care in Huntley, Illinois. She is licensed to practice in both Alabama and Illinois.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated the ability to navigate complex challenges, build collaborative relationships and deliver consistent results. Her corporate experience includes a multi-unit private practice in the West, Midwest and South, as well as leading a regional team of eight medical directors that spanned 145 hospitals and a $200 million annual budget.
Willis-Henderson is a second-generation Tuskegee graduate, following her father, Dr. Edward Donald Willis, a 1966 alumnus with more than 45 years of experience in the veterinary medical profession. She is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters, and has two four-legged family members.
鈥淚 am honored to return home and proud to be a legacy following in the footsteps of my father who served as the owner of a private practice for over four decades and served for two years on active duty and 25 years of reserve duty as a military veterinarian 鈥� retiring as a lieutenant colonel,鈥� Willis-Henderson said.
鈥淭he Tuskegee College of Veterinary Medicine has produced many great veterinarians as my father and I look forward to helping sustain this tradition as well as continue the opportunity for more legacies in the future,鈥� she concluded.
