MESSAGE TO VTH CLIENTS

The TUCVM Veterinary Teaching Hospital will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closed on Saturdays/Sundays. All weekend calls will be accepted through our emergency call service.

AVMA RECOMMENDATIONS:

Per AVMA, infectious disease experts and multiple international and domestic human and animal disease experts agree that there is no evidence at this point that pets become ill with COVID-19 or that they spread it to other animals including people.听听

If you are not ill with COVID-19, you can interact with your pet as normal such as walking, feeding, and playing.听 It would be best if you continued to practice good hygiene interactions with your pet.

If you are ill with COVID-19, limit contact with your pets until more information is known about the virus.听 It is recommended to have another member of your household take care of the daily needs of your pet such as walking, feeding, and playing.听听

If you have a service animal that is needed to assist you in your daily activities, then it is recommended to wear a facemask and continue following CDC guidelines for proper hygiene.
