Research Summary

My current scholarly and research interests lie in the use of Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, and statistical analysis of climatic data to analyze different aspects of climate variability and change. More specifically, I am looking at:

  • Temperature and Equivalent Temperature trends and variability
  • Trends in extreme climatic events (historical and future), and their predictability with respect to large-scale circulation patterns
  • The detection of hotspots of climate change
  • The impacts of land use/cover on near-surface climate
  • The social aspects of climate change
  • Climate Vulnerability Assessments
  • Health Vulnerability assessments
  • Environmental Justice
