TUSKEGEE, Alabama (December 21, 2023) 鈥� The 澳门六合彩图挂牌 College of Veterinary Medicine鈥檚聽 (TUCVM) family of students, faculty, and staff under the leadership of Dean Ruby L. Perry, spread holiday cheer on Dec. 8 through sponsoring the Nineth Annual TUCVM Toy Drive for Tots. The college once again approached the holiday season reminding all of the true spirit of being thankful and giving to help spread cheer and joy to others. Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ebony Gilbreath and Veterinary Social Worker Chankia Berry oversaw the college鈥檚 efforts with the support of Dean Perry.

The children in grades Pre-k to first grade at George Washington Carver (GWC) Elementary School in Tuskegee were all smiles as they entered the gymnasium anticipating picking a gift and hugging Santa.聽 The 鈥楾oy Drive for Tots鈥� is an annual tradition in the college that was inspired by the TUCVM students and administration. The event, supported with active engagement from the college鈥檚 faculty, staff and students, was originally inspired by the Class of 2017 and has since become an annual celebration led by the succeeding first-year veterinary class.

GWC鈥檚 Principal Norman Williams, Jr., Asst. Principal Vishaka Uluwita-Brown, Counselor Teneshia Daniels, teachers, and assistants are very appreciative that 聽Tuskegee鈥檚 College of Veterinary Medicine again selected their students as part of the season of Holiday Giving for 2023. TUCVM also thanks the GWC鈥檚 administrators and teachers who also assisted and supported the Toy Drive. The GWC teachers and assistants included the following:聽 Pre-k 鈥� Dr. Sonia Crist and聽 Laquita Cooks; kindergarten 鈥� Latasha Dix, Wendy Reed-Williams, Crystal Frazier, Katrina Huguley and Tameka Wright;聽 and first grade - Kimela Coleman, Audrey Menefee, Latisha Dix, Kimberly Richardson and Quanesha Powell.

This was another successful joint effort between the students and the CVM administration to support the local community.

鈥淲e applaud the efforts of the TUCVM students, faculty, and staff in demonstrating outstanding teamwork in making this ninth annual charity event possible and a huge success,鈥� said Veterinary Social Worker Chanika Berry.

鈥淗undreds of gifts were collected for all 218 students enrolled in Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade at GWC Elementary School, and extra gifts were given to stock classroom treasure boxes. Truly, thank you TUCVM, for your generous participation,鈥� Berry concluded.
