Services
Turnitin.com, a web-based plagiarism detection software is available to TU faculty. Turnitin.com can be used as a deterrent, but also as an educational tool to teach students how to work with sources and to improve paraphrasing and quoting skills. Turnitin's formative feedback and originality checking services promote critical thinking, ensure academic integrity, and help students become better writers.听听
What is Turnitin.com, and How it Works
Students or instructors submit electronic versions of essays toTurnitin.com.Turnitin.com then produces an originality report. This report shows the instructor the results of turnitin.com's comparison of the essay to content on the web, to turnitin.com's database of student writing, and to some databases of common full-text journals.聽
The repository to which papers are compared currently consists of three primary databases:聽
- Both a current and an extensively archived copy of the publicly accessible Internet聽
- Commercial pages from books, newspapers, and journals聽
- Student papers already submitted to turnitin.com聽
- Papers can be submitted by teachers or students.聽
- Teachers can submit papers directly to turnitin.com's web site聽

By submitting an ILL request the user agrees to abide by these copyright restrictions.
