Undergraduate EE Curriculum

The Department seeks to provide for its students a strong foundation including basic engineering science, mathematics, basic sciences and electrical engineering design. One of the main objectives is to have students reach competence through proper choices of technical electives and logical sequences of courses in the following thrust areas:

  • Energy Systems, including: Power Systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics
  • Microelectronic Systems, including: Electronic Materials, Opto electronics, Integrated Circuits
  • Communication Systems, including: Telecommunications, Digital Signal Processing, Electromagnetics
  • Control Systems, including: Modeling, Optimization, System Analysis, Digital Control

The Department's laboratory complex, with both general purpose and specialized laboratories, is an essential part of the facilities. Laboratory courses are closely integrated with lecture courses. Students are thereby able to gain invaluable experience with "hardware" and develop the skills, resources, and knowledge essential to successful engineering practice.

The electrical engineering program offers courses in the areas of microprocessors, digital design, circuit theory, control systems, electronic circuits and applications, logic circuit, communication systems, electromagnetic fields, and semiconductor engineering. Elective courses permit concentration in selected areas.
